The benefit of having stronger heroes is definitely worth the upgrade. However the time it would have taken me was not worth sitting there, with all my defenses done, for 2-3 months, just farming DE was just more wasted time.

This is one area where the game is really screwed up. A change needs to be made. They give you the queen so late in the game and only let the king get to level 10 before you get the queen and they throw it on top of the longest upgrades.

Heroes should be usable while upgrading and shouldn't even require builders to upgrade. At TH9 and 10 they are an integral part of the game and yet for at least a year they're disabled. The gem cost is an insult to long time players and is not an option.
    Very well stated. I agree.

I've seen plenty of players fall off and give up at TH10 when going early. Its a totally different level for most. Can lose a lot of the fun factor depending on how or what style you are playing. Those that war and are used to three starring with regularity suddenly find themselves posting ones, two stars at best.
    Well said.

So proud I stayed the course for full lavas and 30/30 heroes at th9.
When you stay the course you definitely have the advantage not only from a base perspective but skill sets as well.
I was a beast war attacker by the time I hit 30/30.

Everyone has there pet peeves on how people play this game. I always laugh and look down on other th10s with all skulls and 15/15 heroes.
Most of these types of players couldn't even 3 star a th9 as a th9 and its even funnier watching them fail on th9s in war as a th10.

The most difficult part is, can I farm so much dark elixir to keep upgrading my heroes simultaneously?
Yes, it is worth it and yes you can do it. I found the best way to go about it was to upgrade both heroes at the same time until the cost was no longer reasonable. Having both heroes up will make it easier to get and protect the loot and then when you put them down you wont have any DE to worry about protecting. Also the wall/hero grind takes much longer to do than the defenses, so you will have the time if you designate builders for them early on.

I fully maxed TH9 before I went to TH10. The transition for me is easy. I can simply forget heroes and walls until later stage of TH10.

I farm slowly after reaching TH10. About 3-4 times a day using big army but I managed to get both infernos (one to lvl 2), third xbow to level 3, the last cannon and archer tower to lvl 11, DE drill to lvl 5, last mine and pump to lvl 11 and 12 respectively, golem to lvl 5, freeze to lvl 2, hound to lvl 3, poison to lvl 2 and king to lvl 31 all in one month...

The road to max TH9 was long and dry but at the end it was worth it...

i dont think its worth it, but i did it and i love it. 20/20 is good enough, but 30/30 helps a ton in TH9 war and early/mid TH10...really TH10 compeltely altho by then 40/40 would be better

DE is easier at TH10 as well

My queen is upgrading to 22 at the moment, king is at 20, I have about 50 lava's and rest Lego. I for sure won't max th9, but what I will do is go th9.5. Use gold to continue upgrading walls while I upgrade my troops and spells.

I think it is done on purpose to get people to use gems on heroes, and I don't blame them for it. So far I have spent nothing on the game, but I have most considered gems for my hero wait times....

Perhaps these types of players still have a lot of fun playing the game though even though their skill level is not very high? Imagine that right? Players having fun even though they may not get 3* vs TH9!?

These same people (and myself) are most likely laughing at you for the mindless addiction and soul-sucking de grinding that would have taken you a load of hours or $$ to achieve.

I would, I'm staying at th9 to max heroes/walls and master war strategies. I want to those 30 heroes at th9 stomping other bases.

I went to th10 with my heroes at aq25 and BK 20. I was working on lavas, but in war I was getting paired against th10s, so I decided to upgrade to th10 and not upgrade any defenses at first. My heroes are now aq30 and bk25. Aq at 30 is the best!! BK finally getting decent at 25.

I find it easier to get DE at th10 for sure. Sitting at th9 wasn't doing anything for me. I built one inferno finally and another building now that my offense is up to speed. Infernos really protect your loot big time. I didn't have a problem with holding loot at th9, but with just even one inferno, people stay away, especially with lego/lava walls and a level 30 aq standing near my DE lol.

If you are getting paired with th10s now, go up and just don't build any new defenses.
