Saw a comment a few pages back that suggested we could boost for two weeks by being super quick. I doubt it. Last year, the 1 gem boost event was available for less than 168 hours so you couldn't use it twice no matter how fast you were.

The boost is good for 7 days from the time you initiate it, regardless if the event is still going on or not. So you will get your full 7 days as long as you start the boost before maintenance on the 7th

I just came on clash as soon as the maintenance finished, I searched for an attack with my bam army and after pressing next twice, I found a dead base with 590,000 gold and 550,000 elixir, and the collectors weren't boosted!

You'll still get the full 7 days. If you boost your collectors now, you'll be able to squeeze in another week of boosting before Supercell ends the event, giving you a total of 2 weeks of boosting. At least that's what I remember happening in last year's anniversary event.
