How to get strong in Wars soon TH8

Wizards should be your first upgrade. For 5 days time you get a 25% increase in dps on the already housing space efficient unit. I got my wizards and rushed to my golems asap right after I hit th9.

Until my hogs got maxed out I used a lot of gowi. 3 golems have too much hp for early th8 defense levels to deal with. As many others have stated th8 players often work on AD at first to deal with dragons.

You have to bring plenty of wall breakers and you need to keep the wizards spread out to avoid big bombs taking them out. As long as the golems are spread wide and you guide them in with breakers you should reliably 3 star early life th8s.

Clan castles are almost always packing a dragon these days and wizards are the best at knocking them out of the sky quick so that's all the more reason to prioritize them.

That will be a much faster route than waiting for lvl 4 hogs, though hogs are definitely the all star th8 unit.

Nicely said. I would also like to add that while gowipe is 3rd on the list of upgrades, gowipe troops will be very important at th9, while dragon usage will fall off quickly, and hogs will be less effective than at th9 unless used in surgical hogs or some hybrid strategy.

Apart from dragons, I would focus more on ground attack troops over air, as those are the most effective troop combos right now after th8.

For the record, I was never that big on hogs or dragons at th8, especially once I was more established as an 8 and especially after they messed with the dragon AI. Both seem to do fairly well with crappy war setups and lower level th8s, but once you get to mid to high range 8s, the drags get annihilated by well placed AA, and hogs end up being a 0-1 or 3 star attack. gowipe is a far more consistent 2-3 star attack when executed properly.

Also, you can take 2 witches in your castle for gowiwipe, which ive 3 starred max 8s and lower end th9s ( lvl1 xbows) before.

Thank s for input. I used WiPe Today(as mentioned earlier) against a mid th8 as soon as I got PeKkas. I couldn't be more happy. I got 2 stars and 93% damage. I don't know about ggowipe but this looks like a good one to use for a while. I started pekka in Lab today.

My army was 5 Pekkas, 15 wizards, 6 WBs 3 barbarians

Get ua hoggs to level 4 as fast as yu can... Its a lot of wrk but the reslts ar well worth it yu will b able to hit any kind of th8 base maxed or not its total lab time is 22 days i suggst start as soon as u get free lab

My favorite was hogs, even at L3 if you deploy your heals and hogs correctly (on the right base of course) you can easily get the 3*. L4 hogs are obviously better but you can still 100% a TH8 with L3, and it will give you some practice prior to getting your hogs 4.

Dragon to L3 is a good one too and I highly recommend it for one of your initial upgrades as it allows you to attack how you previously did with mass dragons and it's normally a 2* or 3* if you funnel your dragons correctly.

thanks for help. But I have decided to upgrade Wizards to level 5 next and make my WiPe army stronger. I may be wrong but I really think this army is better than Golem version due to its high DPS

I have been TH8 for about 9 days now. And I love wars. Tomorrow I will have access to P.E.K.K.A and Valkrie plus My First TH8 lab upgrade will be finished i.e. Barbarians. (Do not tell me to upgrade farming troops) Now, the problem:
I couldn't get any more 3 stars on my opp. bases in wars. I ran mass dragons with such ease at th7. But being the leader of my clan I feel bad that I couldn't get 3 stars or even 2. 1 stars dont win wars. I am ranked 2nd on war map so almost everytime I have to take on a max th8.

My hogs are level 2 and my dragons are level 2. I dont have enough Dark elixir to start hogs 3 tomorrow. I couldnt start my Dark barracks for Golem tomorrow 'cause that will leave me vulnerable to level 6 ADs with my level 2 dragons.

So what do I do to gain bigger advantage soon for war? Also I have 3.2 M elixir to start any of the lab upgrades.

Upgrade lab (duh!) which is like 5 days and immediately get drags3....its like 10 days. but now u can basically run drag attacks on max th8's that allow the layout for it, i get max loons from my good donating clanmate (my CC is at 25 space also a first upgrade priority for all new TH8's)

Upgrade hogs to lvl4 from lvl2 (or lvl 1 since it required max DE TH7 storage space and you may have not), takes like 20 days or whatnot. Open up valk and then golem during this time, i would leave pekka for last. You can now run sick hog and gohog ground attacks on any other th8 that doesnt allow drags. I can even get two stars on premie th9's who just upgraded. real good feeling to be able to help your clan war as a new th8 basically in about 15 days.

upgrade heal then rage spells, lightning is ok but now should be last priority as level 4 lightning takes out everything you need already and u cant zap loot (LOL if u so chose before to do so) . Wizard level 5 is good next for war help. Or start doing GiBaArch to help your looting efforts for all the future stuff.

The difference is golem has no weakness (nothing does 2x damage or anything like tesla is to pekka) and a golem targets defenses which means you have a rough idea where they are going to path.

So for instance if you don't deploy the troops correctly you will end up having your pekkas running around the base rather than to the core.

I agree. But WiPe is just another strategy that needs practice. I drop to Pekkas intentionally so take a round walk of the base. When trash buildings are clear I drop 3 pekkas and remaining wizards with a rage.

• Rest archers
• Use the wizards and archers to deal with the clan castle troops.
• Try to use a hog or two to set of potential Double Giant Bombs ahead of time.
• Take 3 healing spells and place them well to cover the most defensive structures.

This is what I use as a sure fire way to 3 star other Th8s in clan wars. This last war I was able to take out a TH9 (3 star) with an xbow using this same strat.
