Your defences are not too bad, although I would advise to max everything (Yes, traps included)
Max those walls! Walls play an important factor in defence, and is sadly neglected a lot. Having lvl8 walls will scare of most TH8 attackers, and some entry to mid TH9 attackers. It will also help in clan war.
As for offensive ability...You are way not ready yet for TH9. The fact that your hogs is lvl1 scares me. Hogs play such an important part in mid-top TH8's in war. You will find that as a mid to top TH8 in war, a lot of bases are hard to just Drag wipe them. This is where people start using Hog/DragRider attacks. This is where you really start learning the AI of hogs and how to perfect spell placement for them. I am a TH9 and I use GoHo on bases that have weak anti-hog layouts. You need some experience with hogs to pull it off, and therefore it is vital to get experience on TH8. It is a lot easier to learn hogging on TH8 since there is no Archer Queen to worry about (She wrecks hogs with her x-bow). I also bring 2 hogs with when I farm to draw out the CC. I find that a lot more TH9 players have CC troops, and they can ruin your farming opportunity. Lvl 1 hogs wont even get in range to draw the CC, they will get smashed by defences quickly.
Also get your Golem to lvl2, I regret not doing it when I was a TH8. You will almost immediately be required to GoWiWi, GoWiPe, and GoHo TH9 bases in clan war.
So in general, always max everything. I am regretting the fact that I went to TH9 without maxing my offense completely
