Are Builder Huts REALLY that important?

Getting extra builders I believe is by far the best value for gems the game offers.

I would recommend everyone getting 5 as quickly as possible, gives you much more flexibility managing upgrades and helps prevent you getting 'stuck' with loaded storages - which just makes you a more attractive target to attack.

I thought it should be common sense but let me give you a very simple real life example. Let's say you are constructing a house, having 2 builders working on it might end the work in 10 days, if you put 4 builders to work, it can end in 5 days. simple, right? If you farm a lot and have enough loot in storages all the time, it's better to start upgrading a thing rather than keeping it stored for nothing.

PS: Builders are the most important part of the game.

First, stop spending gems until you have builder huts. Just stop. Yes you have a problem.

Second. 500 gems??? What! Just barch to Masters for 1000. 4th hut is a must, 5th is preferable but not absolute (I'm thinking walls and heroes). Really depends on how much you raid, but 4th hut as early as possible is non-negotiable.

Yup. I love 5 builders. Right now sitting on busy builders until a day (And been builder full for 2 days.


Always have 1/2 (now 2) on heros, rest on defense. I am not even that hardcore. I just train, log off, attack, repeat. high TH10.


Gemming troops is wasteful. How many hours do you save by 500 gems? A day? 2 days?


3rd builder = Progress a potential 1.5x faster assuming you keep them busy. That extra 50% will ad up even at not so high townhall levels.

I'm sure you'll see how important they are when upgrade times reach 10+ days or when you have enough money to upgrade tons of things and can only choose 2 instead of 3 or 4, plus they're great for tricking people in wars!

Having that 5th builder can take months off your upgrade time. It really is worth it. I was late to the game and got him early in TH 9 but managed to always keep him busy.

Cost doubles each time, so 4th is 1000 gems and 5th is 2000 gems. Getting the 3rd is quite easy if you save up your gems, highly recommend you get at least the 3rd.

Depending on how far you are now and how many gems you already spent I would even consider restarting, as that will get you back up to 250 gems (half-way to 3rd builder).
