I think many of us knew it seemed like a cheap tactic, but it is one the game allowed you too. Especially as a new TH7/TH8 you may as well take advantage of it.

I know as a TH7 it seemed ridiculous that I could zap away DE from a TH10 with these super powered defenses. But as a fast way to get 1K DE I did it every time. Also knew the loot penalty protected me from any real damage. Was pretty funny actually watching them 'send a message' crushing my base taking probably 50k gold at absolute best. Chump change from a TH7 and a shield.

As a TH10 I never bothered to 'send a message' via revenge, as it would just end up costing me even more. But as I had been on both sides of the fence I just accepted it as part of the game. Move on, drills more than cover the losses anyway.

Those that did zap, just adapt quickly, take less zaps and add a rage or two. Have a crack for the whole DE storage instead. It basically forces you to learn how to raid more efficiently for DE faster, which will only help in the long run.
Though I don't have experience beyond TH7, I took advantage because I could. Even though I knew it was a cheap trick, it was allowed. Now that it is not allowed, I adapt and drive to the core, still using barch (enhanced with a few spells and BK).

What I do find lame though is TH10 people (not the person I quoted) calling zappers whiners, when in fact they had zapped their way to level 40 AQ and BK for last several years. Now really...

Just like spying, zapping was allowed. Now some other thing will come along to annoy everyone.

Well I was a zapper before until I got Bk to level 2 and then storages became immune to spells,Although I was a
little upset but it helped me to improve my tactics of using troops to get to a center of the base and I also did a
few mass dragon attacks which helped me in war so now I am happy

I personally zapped a few times, but it didn't seem as effective as normal farming.

lol... I don't think you realize what it takes to farm both heroes to lvl 40. I really doubt anyone can achieve this by zapping. Raiding in higher leagues is far more effective.

Anyway, what I regret is that the EQ spell doesn't do any damage to storages. It should not allow to get the loot, but it should still remove the HP. Lots of TH10 war bases are using their storages as a protection in the core due to their high HP, and being able to decrease HP of those buildings while crushing some walls around it would be highly valuable. At the moment, EQ is mainly used as an advanced spell jump, I don't even see the point upgrading it as higher lvl will simply do the same damages to walls as lvl 1

As I stated, I have no experience past TH7. However, after the zap change, I saw someone post that thru were a level or two away from BK 40 and whining about the zap change.... So I assume some people did in fact zap their way up.

Agree wholeheartedly that both zap and EQ should at least damage storages, even if they don't remove loot.
