Why do people put off heroes? ( TH9 )

I follow same approach. Now 148 lava and 30/20 heroes. I will have 30/30 heroes and max walls in 10 weeks but still defenses to do
I upgrade non stop both heroes until level 20 and I war once a week. to do wars with heroes I usually attack between upgrades and 5 times i gem queen times and one time i gem king time. Total gem i used are lower than 500 coming from obstacles.
Now i just upgrade king to 30 then I start upgrading queen to 30.
You can war once a week but you cannot war back to back if you want high level heroes.

I had to rush! I had bk10 and 225 skulls so no point to sit on full de, gold and elixir storages!!!
You think they break my base in crystal 2? the answer is no:
- in the first month of TH9 4 out of 5 attacks was snipe and i just had TH7 defenses!!! (20 lava + both heroes upgrading)
- in 2-4 months 9 out of 10 attacks was snipe (90 lava + both heroes upgrading)
- now it is 29 snipes out of 30 attacks (148 lava + one hero upgrading) any player can break me but they just scare from my lava walls

and i still have many low level defenses:
- mortars: 3 lvl5 + 1 lvl4
- WT: 3 lvl7 + 1 lvl4
- AT: 2 lvl11 + 1 lvl10 + 1 lvl9 + 2 lvl8
- cannons: 4 lvl7 + 2 lvl8
- tesla: 2 lvl4 + 2 lvl5
- x-bow: 1 lvl1 + 1 lvl2

my biggest mistake is buying x-bow. I just care about wars and just prioritize upgrading defenses for war purposes.

So mortars are lowest in my list!!!!!

I repeat: any TH9 with lvl6 gibarch and some spells can reach my de storage but they just fear because they immediately can see my lava but cannot find my lvl5 mortars!!!!

Yea I notice that to, I guess is because people can't be without their heroes I did my heroes about 3days apart since I started th9 n queen was lvl ten currently bk is 4days from 29 n queen Is lvl 30 I have about 50 lavas left so looks like heroes will be maxed before walls for me so just depends on the attitude you iether farm heroes by focusing DARK raids or you focus less on de n get walls done much faster.

Doing them 3days apart allowed me to be in 2 wars a week with one heroe did it cost me a couple 3 stars along the way? Yes but with some good clan mates working together you can all have good heroes n still win many wars.

Sometimes it's just miscalculation. When I started doing walls on my th9 account I still had the old mindset established when you couldn't use elixir for walls, which made grinding walls take a good chunk of time longer. Needless to say I seriously overestimated the amount of time it was going to take to max lavas.....and finished with my heroes each at about 22. Hasn't been bad though, right now my queen is going to 29 and in the next couple of days king will go 29 so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Opting out is not a real solution. I am leader and number 1 of my clan. If I am in the war, the top 2 guys get 2 stared while I get only 0 or 1 stars (often they do not even try) and the number 2 gets 1 stared on average. This brings us 2-3 stars and the win as long as we dont mess up really much at th8/9. Our number 2 can 3 star the 2 highest th9s giving 2 extra stars in most cases.
I have my heroes at 20/20 and my defense is near max. The reason for this is I was using 4 to 6 valkyries every attack and was ignoring de most of the time, because I did not want to put my heroes down. Especially as a new th10 before the matchmaking update farming the elixir upgrades it was a real pain farming without heroes.

When I have both heros down I just drop to our feeder and pick on TH8's. 23/20 heros and ~75 lavas.

I've got 16/16 heroes and not a single town hall 9 level defense yet. It's pretty easy to get them up to 15 since they are cheap enough to were you can upgrade them both at a time without without boosting.

I am fanatic about war.

2 days ago I had 200k DE, and i decided i had no choice.
For the first time in 2 months i upgraded my heros (both so i only miss 3 wars)
Im a th10 with full legos and my heroes will be 16/16 now.

War is too good to upgrade and sit out.

There are three main reasons, in my opinion:

1. Some people just don't realize how important heroes are until much later.

2. If you war more than once a week, you have to either pay money or war without heroes or delay hero upgrades.

3. Despite what the forum will lead you to believe, farming DE beyond lvl 15 heroes takes commitment. Not everyone can or wants to devote that much time to Clash.
