Why do people put off heroes? ( TH9 )

I've seen many people on the forums and clash have full Legos or Lavas and only 15/15 heroes or slightly higher it takes way longer to farm heroes then to farm walls so people really should be upgrading them every chance they get.
As for myself I have 15/15 heroes and only have 60 Legos, 155 skulls and 35 purple and almost max th9 defenses

I agree heroes are worth prioritising.

Have to remember though a TH9 even coming from max TH8 start with a lv 10 BK and no AQ. Even getting both to lv 15 takes quite a bit of time and DE. You also have to find a lot of DE for the lab. Such as Golem lv 4 and today Dark Elixir spells too.

And then you have players who purposefully delay heroes to war more at full strength.

In good war clans, a 2 star is a failure. 3 stars are what everybody strives for.

Three starring a very high or max TH9 as a TH9 is rather difficult.

I'm 50 away from full Legos and I have nearly max defense at th9 and my heros are 20/21 bk/aq I don't get how people are 15 both royals

I war constantly so I don't get the opportunity to upgrade them. Right now I have level 15 heroes and over 100k de but I have been in war so I don't want to upgrade them or gem them.

I for one barch for my resources, so it's easy to pick up gold and elixir, so I can plop down a few legos per day. I also use my heroes in war, which is the most fun part of the game, so I can't have my archer queen down a week to get 4 more dps and 15 more health. I'm also not made of money so I can't gem my heroes finished, and I can't use my heroes in raids while they're upgrading. Upgrading a hero to a level not divisible by 5 is such an abysmal ROI and they are unusable for raids or war attacks while upgrading.

Maybe if there was a tangible difference between a level 16 barbarian king and a level 17 barbarian king, or they could be used while upgrading, or if it at least didn't take a full week to upgrade more people would have higher level heroes. Hell, even if it were just 6 1/2 days, I could attack early, upgrade my hero, and it'll be the next level by the next clan war.

King at 10 and by the time I get my queen to 10 I will have completed my priority elixir research. Time for a while to focus on de upgrades in the lab which have some hefty price tags.

I think people are forgetting that before the July update a lot of people like myself were losing up to 10k a day in lightning zaps. I'd hate to think what level my heroes would be if this had been implemented earlier.

They probably don't upgrade them since farming DE can take a long time and it can be costly diving into the core and secondly people love to war constantly and upgrading heroes cannot be used during war.

Been in th9 for just over two months and I have already upgraded all de troops. Except for witch and valk. Both my heroes are currently 11/11 but I will be focussing on them a lot more now. Ideally wanted golem to level 4 for war together with hogs level 5 and hound at level 2.

Not really had much trouble finding de but it is harder to farm without my aq
