Stick your resources out so people will boost you most of the way up, then snipe or mass dragon the rest of the way.
Good luck on your journey I just pushed to champs as a th8 but I am completely maxed. I used GoWiPe up to masters 2 and dragoonion from there to champs. Loot didn't matter as I am max and have nothing to spend it on. I had to dump gold in starting/stopping th9 upgrade because I didn't want to be a loot target. Towards the end of my push I put my gold storages and dark elixer out with my th for a snipe incentive. Worked more than half the time but when they want your trophies you will get steamrolled.
