I have personally tested this.
Started the search. I was rank #7.
Canceled the war search, and bought an xbow. Started a war before placing the xbow on my war map. Ranked #1 in the clan.

I've seen something similar to this before and it had to do with placing new buildings or a new layout. I've also read about others seeing the same phantom building issue.

Good luck in war. That one th10 is super rushed and hopefully you guys roll all over him.

Like to know if they have full war bases after battle starts. The mismatch is huge

I can confirm it uses the farm base for matchmaking. I have a war base that is even more pathetic than any you posted. I have never added a wall, or any upgrades since it's very first war. There's only about 10 buildings on the map. My other TH8 game is a few weeks behind it, but the war base has always been updated as new buildings are added. The pathetic one is still a few spots higher than it on the war map.

So we got our enemy clan, and to our sermise they have 18 th10s and our clan has 3 th10s, sure I know your thinking well the enemy clan must have some super rushed bases, which they do! On the war map at least. On the war map these bases look very rushed and easily 3* able, but when you go to the enemy's Farming bases you realize they actually have decent bases.

Th8 Mortars
Th7 Wizard Towers
Th7 Archer Towers
Th6 Air Defense

If a Th10 with Th6-7 defense isn't very rushed, then I don't know what is. How about a warring Th10 with Th4-5 defenses.

If they don't place their new TH6/7/8 towers, it's an easy 3 star for the war base(2 archer towers, a mortar, and a cannon as defense).
