I'm actually using standard barch along with TH sniping to push to crystal as a mid TH8, so basically what I am trying to do is get the free gems for crystal, I'm wondering though, if I chose to push to masters for those gems, does it get really tough past 2000, when would it start getting tough for a TH8?

I made Crystal I as a TH8 easy peasy, was gonna go for TH8 Master but ran out of elixir and DE. The attacking part isn't tough but if you have the resources to do it then go for it.

Crystal is easy.
Master, you need to be patient 5-30 minutes clicking next to snipe one TH. It's quite difficult to get 50% win even as maxed TH8.

Lvl6 giants would make it easier and more efficient.
But, it's still doable w/o them. Like the other guy said that you need to have resources for it. I went m3 at th9 w/ max lab; I put my TH inside and used 16 giants, 10wbs army to do it.
BARCH'ing is the most efficient way but, you'll come across bases which can be easily 2 starred or 3 starred w/ gibarch. I would BARCH only for the last 100 cups or so. Don't use loonian 'cause it's very expensive and time consuming.

Barching to crystal should be very easy. I'm lazily pushing to Champs currently as a mid th9 with loonion. The vast majority of players who snipe me are th8 champs
As a near max TH8, I put my elixir and DE storages outside and had no problem making it to 2400 trophies, but above 2500 trophies the offers just became horrible. I eventually bit the bullet and pushed those last 50-100 trophies to 2600 for the 1000 gems, but it was NOT fun.. every TH7-Th8 I could hit was seemingly worth about 4 trophies. If you next long enough you might find one worth 30-40 though, and can get the occasional rare snipe.

From Crystal1 to Masters 2 can bleed you out of resources if your doing full on attacks. It's difficult in that range to find a happy median between loot and a decent cup offer. Once you make it m1 and champs, you will be trying to figure out how to get rid of loot.
As a th8, unless you are only th snipping, is fine until masters 3, masters 2 and 1 start getting harder, longer nexting sessions as th8 are rare and as mid th8 you wont risk it on th9s... gl with the push! (I made it to champs as close to max th8 before last update using GoWiPe and hogs)
Yeah I think I'll just try for crystal right now, I didn't even mean to start pushing at first I just noticed my trophy count was high and though I might as well push for crystal.
