How do you afford to climb trophies?

I'm trying to save up some elixer to start my wizard upgrade. I never really thought about a gowiwi attack. Might give that a shot instead of dumping money into a lavaloonion.

How do people afford to climb up leagues with their TH inside?

I can defend against some attacks pretty well (mid th10) but if someone attacks my base, it costs so much to re-arm everything.

What's the secret to continue to build and climb trophies?

By raiding i got resources and i use that resources for another raid
