If a base is this rushed, there is zero reason to use mass dragons instead of a stronger, true TH9 army and actually get the easy 3 star. TH9s have four seeking air mines so say byebye to four of your dragons and I highly doubt the rage will save enough time to pull off a three star.
Yes it can if the layout is bad I saw a th9 get 3 starred with 12 dragons 2 heal 2 rage in war. With archer queen and king helping. it can happen. The archer towers are probably level 9 too so it can be done. I wouldn't do it but I have seen a th9 with 4 lvl 5 AD get 3 starred.
The answer is, only very rarely. I have a guy in my clan who used to use them regularly on TH9s as a TH10. He had 240 space and 5 spells and mixed them with a few max loons. Once in a while he got a 3 star but rarely on a well developed TH9.
He he wasn't bad at using them it's just that even at lvl4 they don't have the goods to get 3 stars normally.
