If you do that you need to put a scarlet L next to all the clan leaders that invite low level players to start a war and then boot them without letting them attack. The key to hoppers is to either make them wait a couple of days before war or only have a few new members every war. Personally it's a lot easier to build a newer player up into a succesful clan member than to recruit some maxed level guy to come and be effective. There is a reason a townhall 10 player hasnt found a clan by the time they get there.

Hoppers are going to hop. It is just a part of clan leadership and recruiting. I see no reason to penalize folks.

I don't have issue with hoppers in general play.

Though the ones that request and leave straight away can go take a long walk of a short pier.

The ones that leave mid war really frustrate you though.

Why not name and shame their accounts on a thread here.

I like this idea generally, but with some modifications. Also, you're in the wrong forum, but that shouldn't matter once a mod moves it.

    So, changes:

    • Getting the "letter" should be determined by a points-based system:
      • 1 point for joining and leaving a clan in less than one minute;
      • 3 points for joining a clan, being opted in for war (at the time war search starts), then leaving the clan after preparation day has begun or not achieving any stars if an attack was used (to be clear, these need not be "additional stars", if the player attacks an already 3-starred base and gets two stars, then they've met this requirement). If a player is kicked prior to being able to use their attacks, no points are earned.

    • Points would not be visible in the UI, there would be no way to check how many points you (or someone else) have. We don't want people easily gaming the system to cause distress to other players.
    • Players lose 1 point each day they play the game.
    • Players lose 2 points for each war they participate in (must use both attacks, must earn at least two stars).
    • Points also fall off after 30 days.
    • If a player has equal to or greater than 15 points in the 30 day period prior to the current date, they get the "letter".
    • If a player has the "letter" and has any 3 point infractions (indicating they hopped out of a war or did exceptionally poorly in a war) in the last 30 days they get a special "letter" that indicates they bailed/hopped out of/threw a war.
    • The "letter" is any graphic indication on the offending players profile that indicates they're a hopper and/or war hopper.

I know folks might find issue with the 1 point system for joining and quickly leaving a clan. Especially with REQ/LEAVE clans. On the other hand, folks that utilize those routinely probably won't care if they're given a badge like this. And as long they haven't bailed/failed a war, they won't have the worse "letter" indicating they're not suitable for war. I do think the 3 point system is totally fair though, and giving the player a chance at redemption (taking off two points for every war they participate in) seems reasonable.

As long as they improve their behavior the badge will also go away on its own.

The basic idea is that a hopper is punished and shamed for a behavior that affects clan morale. If a player hops during war and does not return for their two attacks, then a large, red H appears with their name. There is no other punishment then this, just a letter that automatically appears and never leaves. This way, clan leaders know when they are putting hoppers in war. This way, clan recruiters know when a hopper is coming into their clan. This way everyone knows a hopper, because they can be seen.

I want to stress that no other element of game play is disrupted, no resources are lost or given, and the only thing that happens is that hoppers get labeled. Plus, they are only labeled by the game system if they (a) leave a clan, and (b) don't return to that clan by the end of war.

They should have to live with their shame for all others to see for the remainder of their clan days. Clash on, brothers and sisters!
Then people will boot others so they can't war and have a permanent mark on them forever just to be Richards. Terrible idea.

No there just needs to be a spot on players profiles showing how many different clans a player has been in. Then if they have been in a ton, you know they jump

Maybe a simpler solution would be to have a stat saying
    * total number of war attacks done
    * total number of war attacks not used.

I do believe that you missed the entire point of the book "The Scarlet Letter" (Nat Hawthorn).

This Idea is terrible for people like me...

I enjoy to play this game and doing wars.

I dislike looking at the same pixel personalities every day that I play.

I jump from clan to clan to do wars, I always use both of my attacks unless for some or no reason I get kicked before I get the opportunity.

This is already in the game. If an individual joins your clan and can't war for a day, you know he hopped in the middle of war. Pretty simple.

How about you don't let new people war? Have them wait a few days or a week before they can war with you. Most clans I have been in do this and it really cuts down on war hoppers.
