I understand that players with TH9 are having issues. But there are lots of players like myself who upgraded to TH 8 before that drastic update went and screwed everything up (mine finished a day after) At that time I could find decent Loots and still defend at around 2200 trophies.
Since that time well I haven't been able to really upgrade anything since I won't buy gems to buy resources, why, each update they made showed me the were gunning for money to play and compete, not have people enjoy the game play and loot upgrade enjoy. My available time to play has always only been a few hours a day and then several hours on weekends. If they wouldn't have added all these updates and changes making it almost impossible for a TH 8 without fully upgraded defenses to actually upgrade them I might feel different. But let's face facts, I had just made it to the last goblin battle, loot was listed as 1.5 million each resource, I started to train lvl 1 pekkas in my one camp that can. Got them trained for the battle go to it and see loot as 750 k, or screw job..
Seriously there is going to be another major upgrade next month, guess more players in my situation and more of the top players will finally enough is enough and just quit... All these new players don't understand the what lvl 8 or 9 TH are losing under these updates. And yes I crack up,when I see someone level 35-40 with a TH 9 and x-bow, but no real defenses, so take out that x-bow and easy pickings.
I'm hanging around 1400-1500 trophies and rarely get attacked now, whereas before last update it was several a day sometimes several an hour. And when I do get attacked its a person dropping trophies to farm or the occasional player with max upgraded pekkas and spells which leaves me Destroyed since I don't have fully upgraded stuff (why again the last update happened as my TH was going to Level 8) and it completely screwed up what I can do without spending cash.
Talk to people who are in same boat as me, you'll find many agree supercell went and screwed up a great game with that update, now adding spells to jump walls etc. makes defending even harder. Yes the lower levels who build and research right have it made and will over take the long time dedicated player who enjoyed the game at one time, now just stuck in limbo going with either I spend cash or just continue to support a clan..
signed a player who knows how this game is quickly becoming ruined if you won't buy gems
Just a silly little thought as I re-read this thread. Like everyone has noticed, this game is pretty easy until you hit th8 then most people start having problems, and even more so for th9. Could this possibly be supercells way of saying " hey we are still making the game, slow down" ?? To try and prevent players from reaching "the end" and quitting because there is nothing to do? Meh I just don't know. Give sc a little bit of credit, regardless of all the flame posts lol.
Funny, I didn't use 'elitist' at all to describe you, JJ, or AA. Unless you're calling JJ an elitist, and thereby from reference that s/he is in AA, that AA is an elitist clan?
On a more serious note: I also care about this game, just like everyone else who takes the time to post on the forums. I think SC is doing a great job at this game, and want to make sure SC gets that side of the story too, instead of falling for the 'squeaky wheel gets the oil' syndrome.
Sure, I get a little miffed about joining the game late when 'farming' used to bring in millions per hour, and as soon as I started, updates nerfed farming to just a fraction of that. Now players who got in early, still have their black walls and such, whereas I have to work harder to get black walls. But do I blame SC? no way. Instead I like to think that over time, as updates continue to progress, that small advantage that early players had will be negligible.
SC apparently thinks next months 'major update' will change how we play this game. Will that force me to adjust? yes, if the game is still appealing to me.
I think a more constructive 'feedback' to SC is how to improve the gameplay, not just mention how their updates forced you to change your tactics or strategy. We all play by the same rules, so if the game rules change, the ones on top are those who adjust the quickest. That to me sounds like fun, to occasionally figure out how best to adjust to new game mechanics, rather than rely on tried and true habits.
If a video game is giving you this much heartache it may be best to just step away, enjoy the holidays, and try something else for entertainment.
Nothing is worth getting this upset over.
I'm TH8 and having a good time farming it up in anticipation of the major update. I'm also playing three other freemium games, but nothing quite compares to CoC...yet.
Nothing makes you elite
To be honest I didn't read the manifesto. I don't think anybody's (or at least I'm not) taking this game too seriously. As many people have said, this is one of those groundbreaking games that still is by far my go to app. I don't think that precludes people from thinking that some of the changes missed the mark. But whoever said that one of those updates was done to improve competitive balance.... I have to disagree on that one.
