I'd say a glitch on the 'all time best' category entry.

I agree with this guy^^^ It just hasn't changed the pic from masters 1 to champs 3. It picked up trophies, but not the pic. Just wait 24 hrs and it should probably be changed/fixed

Still hasn't changed today and the problem is that his badge has changed even though all details in his profile indicate he has yet to hit champs. Please look him up folks.

It's the game lag. My guess is they reached champ league, went on def, lost then the profile updated. The game takes time to load some features. Like when a top player leaves a clan and it says they are still in it. Or when you dump cc, request, then get troops, go on def and the troops don't come out. Or when you change your base and ask a clan mate to check it and it shows them the old one still. The game lags for some reason...

Possibly, but we are talking a day+ of lag. I've ran into a few glitches of my own when people have joined, but they aren't in the clan. I have to boot them for them to get back in. Then just today, I was repromoted to leader, but I only had the powers of a CO and that's what it showed on my profile despite the Leader title appearing in chat.... odd game sometimes.

This just happened to me.

I was at 4443. Won a def (+29) and Lost the next def (-20)
Winning the def would put me at 4472 which will be my new PB, but apparently profile is not updated.
So my guess is trophies won on def does not count in your sweet victory/all time best record?

Yes I think this is known behavior; unless you log on after winning the first defense, the 4472 doesn't count as your PB.

I'm just not sure whether SC considers it "a minor glitch that we'll fix someday when we have a chance" or "this is the intended behavior".

Yes. I think that is exactly what happened to the player in OP picture.
He won a defense which got him above 3200 and got the champs badge but lost the follow up def which got him back to 318x. After logging in back, the PB is updated to 318x instead of 32xx
