It does nothing, you can chop it down for 25k gold and you'll receive 50k gold back.

although in multiple threads people claim that the reward will progressively grow. The claim is that the best time to chop it down is on x-mas day

Ok, so suddenly In my village, 3 Christmas trees pop up. (Had to be after king of the woods competition). Anyway, people have been saying that the reward multiplies on Christmas Day. I'm guessing it does because on facebook clash of clans hinted this. However, I live in New Zealand and if. Chop it down in the morning for me it probably won't count as Christmas Day because 'Xmas' day n CoC is probably based on American time or something. Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but when's a good day to chop them down! For me in nz of course.
