Upgrading Heroes

I'm starting to doubt the wisdom of upgrading heroes. I went to TH 8 about the same time as a clanmate of mine, who refuses to upgrade his BK. Meanwhile i'm chugging along and mine is almost maxed for TH8. I've been shaking my head the whole time thinking he doesn't know what he's doing, is silly and his BK sucks.

Meanwhile, every single war, he's had his BK. While mine was sleeping and either had to opt out or risk failing an attack, he had his lvl 1 BK. He's had it on every farming raid, had it in every war, and as the cherry on top? He has his in more raids then i do even when mine's not upgrading because of the regen time. Another cherry on top of that? Now he has hogs to lvl 4 because he hasn't been burning DE on his BK, so he has strong war troops before i do.

Keep in mind this is only TH 8, if you take this all the way to both heroes to lvl 40, well damn. Sure when you are all done you have awsome heroes, but you missed a good year of playtime with them. How many recourses did you lose out on from not having them to raid with, how many war attacks did you miss, or fail because they were upgrading? How much longer did it take to get strong farming or war troops because you were using the resources for the heroes?

And for me, i have so much more fun raiding with my BK then without, how much enjoyment is lost out on, not having them. I dunno, anyone else frustrated with this reality? It bums me out

It is frustrating. But, level one Heroes would be really gimped for a TH 10 player. So you just have to take your medicine. You're doing it right man.

When he gets to TH10 he's really going to regret having his baby heroes when he struggles to 1 star opponents in wars.

He doesn't even get the BK iron fist, I say upgrade it it's so worth it, I maxed my BK at TH8 within a month of being TH8, yes it was frustrating raiding without it but now it's just awesome with the lvl10 BK, love raiding with it.

I m new th8 and i upgraded my bk frm lvl 5 to lvl 7 and my clanmate have lvl 2 bk and lvl 2 golem and lvl 4 hog and lvl 3 minion.i m same situation as u.same pinch

I mean no offense just curious, how do you only have all lvl 7 walls with BK 10? Clearly you get a decent amount of loot if you got your bk to 10 in a month. I was full purple half skulls in 2 weeks into TH8, so just curious, maybe you were going for DE specifically? or were your walls a bit rushed

He may have his for every attack, but what about war attacks? Higher level heroes are the keystone to a successful 3 star on every war attack.

I also agree with other posters on points they've made. TH10 and heroes below level 15 is a NIGHTMARE. Iron fist provides you with extra troops and a free mini-rage.

At TH9 when his heroes are garbage and he's still proud of two stars on preemie TH9s and you're three starring mid-max TH9s you can laugh at him.

Why doesn't he at least upgrade it to lvl 2 overnight or something? Does he never sleep?

It's going to cost him soon, especially if he doesnt get that ability. If he goes to TH9 with a lvl 1/2 king, he's going to suffer why you laugh at him with ur lvl 10+ king. He's going to be screwed in war and since the July 2014 update, king lvl 1-4 is basically sh*t with a stick.

Heroes are meant to be upgraded, not bought and forgotten.

it is sometimes frustrating to upgrade them but it will benefit you in the long run
