Finding Clanmates in multiplayer

I have read about people in champs leaving their clan temporarily in the hopes a clanmate would find and Attack them in multiplayer.

I also know that before opt-out, people used to leave clans temporarily if going on holidays, etc. in order to avoid unused attacks. (And that it's not necessary now.)

Question is, what are the chances of "finding" a clanmate in multiplayer at 1500-1700 trophies? If I thought it were possible, I might try it just for fun, if our leader is okay with it. (I'm a co right now and assuming they'll let me back in, haha).

Just at wondering if anyone has tried it, or knows of such things, before I even go bring it up. :-p. :-)

Chances would be very slim. Probably similar to those of winning the lottery.

Yup probably 1 in hundreds of thousands chance if not millions.

This may work at the extreme high end of Titans and legends, but definitely not down in the more populous leagues.

It only works for very top players where there are only a handful of players going offline at the same time. What you heard is called cheap shield (leave clan, log off, pray to Clash God your clanmates find you first and attack you for 1-star). At Gold League, there are millions and millions of people. It's next to impossible to find someone you know.

Nearly impossible. I have attacked an alliance-mate before, though, so it is possible.

Your only hope would be to have no loot in the lower leagues and have your th in the center.

Maybe that way you would be left alone long enough for a clan mate to find you.

its more likely u get an accident first by nexting before u find any of your clanmates in that trophy range...
