Well the misleading thing is that your raid will still continue if all your troops are dead but you still have a poison spell, that might be why people are using it at the end
Using a Haste spell instead of poison on enemy cc troops doesn't kill them either. Luckily, I was still able to 3 star it.

I also keep coaching that you must let the cc troops die before sending in other susceptible troops, as poison doesn't travel with the cc troops outside the circle....
On a related note: Earthquake doesn't kill CC troops.
Yep, had that happen in attack against a clanmate in recent war. Trigger CC, drag CC to corner, drop earthquake on them, nothing happens, fail hog raid.![]()

It might be that the color of the poison spell is a little bit too close to that of the healing spell. Especially when you have a lot of different troops and spells in your inventory, you may not see both the healing spell and poison spell at the same time as you have to scroll to get to all the spells.
This happened to me in war - I placed a nice big healing spell over their clan castle troops.
You guys sure they weren't using poison to kill the skelly traps and it appeared they were dropping it on buildings?
All of our goho raiders and standard hog raiders have been using poison for the skellies, so it looks like a poison is being dropped on a th or wiz tower when actually the purpose is for something else.
just throwing it out there.
