Upgrades in TH 8.5

I was considering going to a th 8.5 I am a maxed th 8. I am still a little confused on upgrades, etc. you can't upgrade defenses? I think. Can you get walls storages and upgrade dark barracks? Can you get a queen? Someone please let me know what you can upgrade as a th 8.5! Thanks

Anything you want. Most important is troops and army camps.

What I did was not build any new defenses but got everything else. Traps, walls, storages, drill. I upgraded my lab and SF first and then did my camps and dark barracks. By the time all those were done I had all lego walls so I started building new defenses and getting them up to town hall 8 level. When those are all there I'll throw down the
x-bows.

There are many variations on 8.5, make sure to get ur queen, upgrade cc and camps to max for th9, upgrade dark barracks to unlcok hounds..

Th8.5 is all war orientated, whatever it takes to stay low on the war map. Going by this, you focus all your builders on offense. Starting with the lab, cc, spells, dark barracks, heroes, camps and war troops. Dark drills don't hurt either. Once you have these, I'd suggest building new walls and traps, and start leveling them up.

Only when you have 100+ legos, maxed war troops and lvl 10 heroes would I suggest moving to th8.75. This meansd build all new defence ex. xbows, but keeping it at th8 lvl. Once you are happy with your war attacks, walls and heroes, build xbows and start leveling up defence.

I hope this wasn't too unclear. I was a th8.5 myself, and now an 8.75. War is great at my level. Do expect to be smashed by other th9s and th10s, but in the end it's all worth it.

I will add one recommendation. Add your fourth air defense early, about the same time as your traps. The idea is to give a war advantage. The new ad has very little war weight, but it makes you invulnerable to a town hall eight air attack. The main thing you want to avoid is adding xbows, then upgrading splash damage. basically, before adding or upgrading a defense, ask yourself whether you could beat your base with that upgrade. If you cannot, then it's likely a good idea to hold off on the upgrade, because the base you match against will likely be the same strength as yours.

Well that didn't help at all did it..... Most people ask because they have tried using the search function and had no luck.
