Dark Elixir in Clan Wars

My last war attack I have been using 18 witches... this means 6500 DE. No way this can be compensated with the bonus.

But at the same time, if you look at the lower level CW, the same problem exist with most TH7 using full drags in CW. There is also no way they could compensate the elixir spent with a bonus on another TH7.

As a th9 I only use 400-500 dark elixer for minions and possibly a dark spell and most of the time 2 star a base with ballionian

I spend about 6-7k dark for both attacks per war, if we're successful I get just over half back. It would be nice to be rewarded with more but I don't really take part in war for the loot.

well, I'm about 1.2k DE per attack (TH8, 1 Go, some Valks, some Hogs), incoming about 1.2k DE reward (about 650-700k gold/elexier).
So if we win I get out of war with a little plus or minus on DE - as long as I don't donate any darks.

Think a little more reward would be fine, maybe something like 10-15%, so basic attacks are covered and you get a little plus for the work (scouting, planing,...), also you stay a little plus if donating a few.

The other point:
War for glory and blood, not the loot.

I would support a larger haul of dark for a win. Totally inadequate at present. With donating max Golems, Witches etc I am out of a pocket about 10K per war which makes upgrading heroes much slower than it should be for the work you put in. Other loot is fine for wars IMHO.
