    Dark Elixir in Clan Wars

    This thread is to gather information about the use of dark elixir in clan wars. The reason I post this is because starring a max base earns approximately 3,500 dark elixir. After dark spells were introduced my guess is that people spend approximately 3,000 dark elixir per war attack, but this is only a guess.

    Can you list how much you spend on elixir and dark elixir per war and townhall level, approximately. Keep in mind the expected gain is much less than 3k DE, as you may lose the war.

    I'm a townhall 10 and I spent about 2700 dark elixir per attack last war.

    Dark Elixir reward in war is inadequate if you ask me.

    I often use 4 or 5 Golems each attack. They cost 750 each. So that's 3,000 to 3,750 DE right there. So even if I win the attack, and my clan wins the war I'm breaking even on Dark Elixir on that alone.

    I also donate several Golems, Hogs, Hounds etc in war. I'm now paying for Dark Elixir spells also.

    I'm losing several thousands of Dark Elixir every single successful war. I really believe The Dark Elixir return needs to be boosted, especially after this Dark Elixir spell update.

    I'm willing to pay more than I earn in clan wars but that's why we end up on the winning side. I'm curious if clan wars is giving the economy a net negative on dark elixir.

    I lose dark elixir every war. It sucks. sometimes I leave my clan and go to a farming clan just so I can farm for dark elixir and upgrade heroes and not be envious of the war goers.

    Many of my clan mates including me love to clan war it's the sum of all the reason why we play.

    Once we have a early TH9 member he use GoHoWiWi to attack that's around 2K DE per attack and I decided to not include him in war because he need to upgrade his AQ and he badly need those DE.

    But he said to me "It's ok I love to war that's the reason I play." He was very sad that he was not able to join the war even if I know that he badly needed those DE to upgrade his queen.

    Sometimes I don't understand the people who don't join wars because they think it's a waste of resources.

    Why the hell do you play clash of clans then? To farm forever?

    I my self donate the witches and golems in our wars, and I'm throwing around 10k-15K DE per war including my attacks.

    I generally use about 1250, however as a th 8 my main attacks are hogs and gowipe, so my usage is alittle,lower then what it will be once I get to th9. I do however also donate a lot of hogs in war time. The de is seriously under funded. If we lose a war I am normally out about 4 or 5 de. Kinda hurts when I am working on troops upgrade.

    Th 9, BK 14 AQ 15, Skulls done with 210 Legos. Still working on the climb, struggling to make ends meet.

    I agree with many of the points raised on here, both in the side that wars have now become the main focus for many irrespective of loot, as well as the side that point out the imbalance.

    Although warring is more about showing your power over others directly when your bases are at their best, the idea is to grow your base all the time to be more powerful. The loot bonus used to be a lot worse and I remember warring as a dragon clan where even a victory barely made any gold profit (and thankfully they addressed this in one update and then of course the perk increases came in too) but at the higher levels (particularly if you're top of a spread clan ive i am) are expected to fill everyones defence and attack requests, which severely depleted your resources even if you win.

    I understand the tactics of attempting to use cheaper troops and spreading the load, getting high with first attacks so second attacks can be cheaper..... But it would be nice if the reward was a little bigger. War days effectively halt your raiding for over a day unless you can be on all day, so add that to the risk of loss making resource loss even heavier, and you can see why many players choose not to war at all.

    I agree that the loot should be increased, especially for farmers such as myself It can be hard to do clan wars along with upgrade costs too, and as a new TH9 I will probably have to opt out of wars for a bit because the elixir upgrades cost so much.
