Yes folks, Summer 2015 is here (and has been for quite a while already actually) and the dubbed "Clash Summer Update" has also arrived (along with the unfortunate de-arrival of Smash Land ( D: ), I loved that game).
Anyways, I'd better stop side-tracking or I'll have to post this in Off-Topic!
Since it is summer, I decided that I should make a rambling sort of thread (not that my other ones aren't) for no particular reason. And coincidentally, Summer is actually one of my favourite four seasons to buy some Clash of Clans gems! Now is my personal TOP FIVE favourite ways to spend my gems!
A classic is buying decorations! I think that the pirate flag and the mighty barbarian statue looks pristine on my base for the cheap cheap price of 500 gems each or only 20 Gem Boxes!! Many people will argue that this is a waste of gems and to them I say... Nothing because I do not actually know who they are. BUT! This is definitely NOT a waste as not many people from clash have these decorations. When buying these, you actually become ONE OF A KIND (well... Give or take...). You become part of the exclusive group of the user-base with these decorations; Fly the Pirate Flag with pride! Display your Mighty Statue with honour! These are exclusive to a limited user-base! If you already have these, don't be afraid to spend gems buying other decorations like the country flags and/or the PEKKA Statue, Torches etcetera. You should feel good to be helping out Supercell by spending a few gems!
Boosting your barracks are essential while pushing into those higher leagues like Masters and Champs (and Titan and Legend now I guess since the update). Your troops train four times faster making your army much more efficient and you can quickly get back to raiding. Now with the ability to queue up spells, you can efficiently brew up spells as you hit that next button without wasting the boost time. Two hour sessions, that's how I do it! If you feel the need, once again, don't be afraid to hit the "Finish Now" or "Heal" buttons if you feel the need!
Number three is to hit the "Request Now" button on your Clan Castle because, let's face it, who hasn't been tempted to hit that button and get some more CC troops faster? Well another related one is gemming to make your first clan! If 10,000 gold seems to be a bit too much, don't worry! You have gems! They can convert to any resource with the help of a few, you can get your very own clan! (IMO, a great clan name is "I Spent 10K").
Now I personally hate waiting for hero upgrade time and not having them for war. A popular request is for Supercell to make heroes usable during war while upgrading. THEY ARE! With the use of only a few gems (well maybe a bit more than "a few"), your heroes can attack in war! You can simply gem their upgrading time. I'm very sure that this is the reason that Supercell as not make heels usable in war while upgrading; as said previously, THEY ARE!
Now the final and my personal favourite is using gems to fully max out THE GAME. With a few in-app purchases, you can have enough gems to fully max out everything! I must say, it is quite entertaining to watch the builders run around upgrading stuff AND it is also quite entertaining to watch someone spending an hour or more upgrading everything there is in the game and trying to organize their base.
And that, unfortunately, concludes the first edition of my Rant; Summer 2015.
Unlike common belief, gems are meant to be used, not saved to excessive amounts never to be used; Gems are your friend, the most important resource in the game! They can be used for almost everything in the game.
