People gemming upgrade times are probably a pretty big source of revenue for SC; I would go as far as to say that they are a key point of SC's business model. They aren't going to reduce them because you are bored, they made them that way so that you get bored. Gem or wait, those are the options presented.

If you plan builders you can get one free every 1-2 days. Which isn't too long to fill your storages. At most you would be waiting a day but most likely less.
Not only is players gemming upgrade times a big source of revenue for Supercell, but I believe the long wait times makes the achievement of actually reaching the high end content of the game much more satisfying for the player because it isn't easily achieved and takes dedication.

The thing that kills me is the heroes. Approx 40 freaking weeks without them is ridiculous. And the upgrade cost is so outrageous I simply refuse to do it on principle. And 6+ months for all your troops at th10 is just ridiculously extreme. They could cut 5 days off each one and it'd still be plenty of a grind. And if they cut the hero upgrade time to 4 days you could at least use them in a war 1 time a week. The lower upgrade time would actually let me use them a lot more because then I wouldn't have so much DE built up to put them down right away again.
I spent so much money on gems I couldn't make rent.. I lived on the streets for about 4 months going to public wifi.
I got a job at fast food and sleep in my Pontiac Aztek. I got my finances in order and only spend whats left over after gas and food on gems.
It takes time to balance it OP. Good luck
I'm TH8 and the problem is that I'm gonna have way more troops to uograde even after all buildings maxed, and it looks even worse at TH9, every uograde is 10 days and up, which means it's gonna be very hard as a new TH9.
