Doesn't XP play a large part in Clan Wars? Without XP we wouldn't get paired very efficiently with other clans in Clan Wars. Let's say they do away with XP, how would they match opponents? You need some kind of way to weigh defensive buildings.

Like yea, HOORAY, you made it to level 300, which was the same as level, 150, and the same as 50. This meaning that I can have all the same things at level 150 that I will at 50.

If anyone could explain the actually purpose of XP levels that would be great
XP levels help people judge how experienced, a player and if they have a decent base or donation at a glance. If someone poor donations or defense levels it will show in their XP level.

They also unluck decorations for you.

And finally they are something which could be easily added on to by supercell.

It indicates the value of a player to a clan (any clan).

    1. High level but so-so donations means the player is more experienced in attack even though if he uses barch. Will be valuable as other members can see his replays and ask for his opinions. With the assumption that player actually chats.

    2. High level due to insane donations. Valuable to a clan as this player donates to YOU. Free troops. What's not to love? Even low level troops can take out a TH (outside).

So it is a good (general) indicator of the possible value that player would bring to a clan.Of course, there are exceptions, but generally, it helps you gauge them.

Totally useless, sc can't even be bothered to try and act like they mean anything. I guess that there was a time long ,long, ago when there was a plan to use them for something, now long since dumped. XP meaning nothing is the same as the very random leagues of 200 even more random players that we find ourselves in every 2 weeks, again totally useless. This sort of thing really shows me that SC never had plan for the game and have to make it up as they go along, mostly by using player input to help them. In fact now I think of it this game has a great deal in common with Lost, next update we will probably get polar bears added to the dark rax.
I hate to be a kicker,
    I always long for peace,
But the wheel that does the squeaking,
Is the one that gets the grease.
