    clan castle lock

    There should be a way that you can toggle the clan castle like how you can put the king to sleep. So you don't lose donated clan castle troops before a war.

    Or you could just put your TH outside momentarily to get a quick shield...

    But yeah, I guess I see your point.

    Agreed, I almost never ask for defense cc troops, I ask for specific troops to aid in my attacks and they get wasted half of the time. You should be able to choose to have them defend or stay inside.

    The troops from the CC have two purposes, one being to support you in an attack, and the other to defend the base in case of an attack. I don't see any reason why the CC troops should just sit in the CC and watch the village being destroyed. If you are having troubles keeping the CC troops for a war attack, then only request them when you have a long enough shield or when you are ready to attack, thus you won't waste them on a defence.
