*The point of this is that when you have a builder building something and you have a free builder you can assign both builders to the same job. I think the maximum builder put on one job should be 2-3 depending on level.Also it costs a few gold/elixir.(100,000 of each) the problem on this game is that every thing takes wayy too long. I believe that is why some people just give up. So I think that this will add more efficiently.

*Well you are wrong, if you add builders on one job people will add too many well that is an advantage and a disadvantage.
-Disadvantage: you will run out of builder being too greedy so you will only have a little amount of builders left (As of 5 builders are a lot)
-Advantage: Build times will decrease leaving the player not having to wait as long as he thought
Since there are 5 total builders, the total reduce time divides by five. Sob the maximum time reduced s 3/5 of the regular time
