Just gave up derby and chose life 🙀

As the title goes. Jenny and i announced the hood that for the past two weeks its been fierce competition and its just too much stress. From now on, we are a non competitive hood! 🙀 With 10 pixelated gold cups from our glorious past 😌😏

Its just too much for every single week! We will still trash tasks and keep high pts tasks on board, but noone is expected to participate. You can finish 320*6, or do zero.

I just wanna come home and ask my friends how was the day, sell them stuff and help with orders. I want to make cakes but don't like the obligation of finishing them in 1 day 20 hrs! Don't really want to keep tracking who is collecting their 65 bacons and who isn't. And that boat task. I have space for that next to the ship wrecks in my abyss.

Now i need to excuse myself as i need to grow some potatoes like i should be doing. You know what? I just found out the bday cake deco looks amazing with two wheat plots next to it as the golden color matches very well! Yay!

Thank you, Madeleine. Finally the voice of reason. The derby should be fun. The moment it isn't, we shouldn't be participating.

I'm sure that there are more and more NHS that are giving up on the Derby now. Unfortunately only the Derby obsessed ones seem to be advertising on the forum. There seems to be more and more posts about stress and nastiness associated with the Derby. I hope this thread helps to remind people that there was a great game before the Derby and it's easy to get it back.

We keep high point tasks on the board (I am happy to quietly sit and trash!) but we are non competitive. Most of our hood members do tasks but we do it because we want to - the tasks fit in with our available playing time and style (if you want to do lots of trucks for the xp, then take a truck task to get the extra bonus of that etc) - not because we have to. We've got a few bronze trophies, but we haven't placed for the last few derbies, last week we didn't even make all five horseshoes. This week we are currently second which is a nice surprise and with many high point tasks to be completed we stand a chance of winning this week. It's a nice bonus to be in this situation but we won't be losing any sleep if we get overtaken at the last. It's a nice way to play it, no stress!

Supercell, Congratulations! You have killed the fun that used to be the Derby!

I agree 100% - please review other posts I have made and revert to what the Derby used to be - the fun has been taken out of the Game What was an ingenious idea .... The Derby ... May yet be the downfall of Hay Day in view of the disasterous changes that were made recently!!

MadeleineAkaino, you are on a roll, lovely voice of reason.

I like the derby. It adds structure to my farming and rewards me for stuff I would be doing anyway, like mining, fishing, harvesting, producing, helping, and filling boats and trucks. But it's not fun camping out at the task board, trashing task after task in hopes of getting high value tasks. We never spent diamonds on this, just made it our job to check constantly as tasks repopulated the board, but I did spend plenty of diamonds speeding boats, taking a 6th task every week, even re-shuffling prizes (fat lot of good that did).... No more!

I want my relaxing game back, so I will be manually "opting out" of the derby by leaving my NH on Monday and returning after the start of the derby on Tuesday - opt outs will be at least every other week, if not every week.

My hood just opted out of the diamond derbys also!

My hood has always been awesome and this new ninja mutant diamond derby system hasn't changed it but there has been a lot less enjoyment from our daily playing environment. So after this week my hood, all 25, will never spend a single diamond on the derby again. Diamond spending was a rare event for our whole team but since the new derby changes we keep having tuffer and tuffer derby's that became so hard we either had to pull 6th tasks or lose. As this trend just keeps increasing I finally told my hood that enough was enough because even diamonds weren't enough to win anymore. I agree with some other posters, I want my care free fun farming back. They can keep their derby's and I will keep my diamonds!

Agreed completely. I still enjoy the derby, and watching the race brings our nh together in a common goal, but the diamond spending became a complete waste last week when, despite all of us buying 6th tasks and congratulating each other on the nice lead we had, we got slaughtered at (literally) the last minute in a sneak attack.

It was our first non-gold trophy, and it was a bit of a kick in the gut for us, but at least the pressure is off. We are still playing the derby, but we aren't spending diamonds anymore, unless someone has them burning a hole in their pocket and they really want to. Who knows, we may get bored of it now that our perfect record is tarnished, and maybe we'll be leaving the derby behind too if it gets to be not worth it anymore, but for now its a diamond-free derby.

I'll be opting out this coming week as well since I'll be out of town for the first 2 days. I could probably squeeze in my tasks anyway, but I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like sitting back while everyone else does the derby thing. Will be interesting to see if it's relaxing or if I'll feel like I'm missing out.

Madeleine, I have always viewed you as one of the most reasonable and intelligent posters on the forum, so I knew that eventually you would come to your senses . Congratulations!
