    The AI Improvements

Sorry if you cant read that, but that is the text in clash of clans update info referring to the AI Improvements. While all of us are happy that there are improvements happening, there is still quite a lot of work. The issue I am bringing forth is with wall breakers, targeting unnecessary walls.

This is a screen shot from a war replay, that happen the night after the update. The pekkas are clearly breaking the wall.

There, we see the wall breakers are deployed after the pekkas have gone through the hole in the wall. I think all of you can guess what I am going to say happened, but here it is anyways.

The wall breakers targeted the walls with a hole already in them, instead of going through the hole to the next layer.

The update says that it fixed troops unnecessarily targeting walls, and that wall breakers won't retarget to unnecessary walls, but evidently the problem is not yet fixed. I'm not sure if this happened before the update, I never saw it happen previously, or if the update caused this to happen. I would just like to request a fix for this sooner rather then later.

Thank you for your time, any comments are welcome.

    BTW
sorry for the screenshots, I would do a video but I do not currently know how to get a video of a clash replay. If someone would like to leave a comment telling me how, that would be great. Thank you!

I had the same thing happen to me. It would appear the wall breaker AI has taken a step in the wrong direction. They don't work nearly as well as the did before the update.

I think thats the nature of the game, some times your troops do what you want some times they dont. Try some more attacks and see what happens.

Yeah, I really like that they are improving the ai too, I noticed however a possible issue with my queen, she seems to no longer target unnecisary walls, but now tries to move to a position where she can hit the building she would normally try to reach. The only problem is, in doing so, she runs straight through many other buildings. If there was a way the queen could determine whether to target the nearest building or destroy a wall to reach another close building, that'd be great. At the same time, I know that drsigning an ai this complex is very difficult and is bound to make mistakes, which I totally understand. Just thought I'd mention this.

So perhaps from a programmers perspective, instead of breakers re-targeting when one of their number detonates, which is the current system, tie the re-targeting to the alternative event of a wall section breaking. This way breakers re-target as and when any wall section is broken by any unit and assuming your algorithm that reads walls works they will retarget correctly.

As is I agree with OP. Pretty backwards / non-progressive breaker AI update here.

This is important to me as I'm about to move to land war attacks and also enter a heavy DE farming phase of TH8 so an improvement (I believe a necessary one) here would be great.

    Thanks.

SC are reverting back to the pre-update AI, therefore we should expect a future attempt to further improve the breakers AI.

    Thanks.
