Although its just a minor suggestion, there should be an option to bring you to the oldest message since you were last on, that way you don't have to scroll down tons of messages in order to see messages you hadn't seen. This really helps for those times you get on and have 40, 50, 60+ messages that you would want to read through. Also, there could be a button that brings you back up to the top of the messages so that you don't have to scroll back up if you are many messages down the list.
