With the zappers out of luck and the new DE spell upgrades, this comes back into relevance again and would be a neat addition

Introducing "The Bouncer"
Made out from a 9-square elastic microstitched net, elaborately hidden with 4 wooden poles, it can protect any area or building from direct spell hits.
The spell bounces off the net, and unleashes its power somewhere else within the village with unpredictable results. However the protected area remains intact.
Standard Bouncer : Deflection is short ranged
Upgrade II Bouncer : Deflection is medium ranged
Upgrade III Bouncer : Deflection is long ranged (to the surrounding woods)
