Walls are over rated.....

as a non-gemmer and active raider with 3 builders (TH7, lvl 60, almost maxed), I found that I maxed out purple walls back around level 52 or so, and so my non-maxed defenses were holding me back from upgrading to TH8, not my walls. So maxing walls was a no-brainer since I needed to waste my maxed out gold storages on something while waiting for my defenses to max out anyways.

Seems like almost everyone is the opposite, where they max out there defensive buildings before maxing out walls.

Are any other non-gemmers who raid a lot also in my position?

if you only use a few wallbreakers you have been attacking really bad bases a good base has sections so u have to use at least 15 wallbreakers to get to the middle if you rely on them to break walls. since its not realistic to carry 15 wallbreakers (i know some people do but they dont use them all in one battle) you ussally only break the outer walls with wallbreakers therefore the center walls were you attack with normal troops really count

Yep i always leave a builder free just incase i max out gold so i have something to spend it on

Same thing here, I might not do all lvl 9 walls though before TH10, time will tell.
