I have ideas for two new elixir troops.
Why Elixir and not Dark Elixir?
No new elixir troops are unlocked at Town Hall 9 and 10.
Won't the display be uneven, consisting of rows of 5, 5, and 2?
This problem can be solved by cramming 6 in a row. A bit tight, but it should work.
Alright, I'm interested, what are they?
They are the Engineer and the Radioactive Spider!
Who's the Engineer?
The engineer looks like a barbarian, with cogs on its belt rather than a belt buckle. It also has a classic Barbarian King moustache and a large plaid hat and a wrench in hand.
Summary:
The Engineer is a troop which tosses wrenches at buildings to attack them (like an archer). It is also capable of building turrets (similiar to the witch, but the turrets are stationary and are ranged).
Permanent Stats:
Housing Space: 15
Speed: 16
Stats:
Level 1 (Comes with Barracks Level 11):
- 380 Hitpoints (It should be durable against shots)
- 56 Damage per attack (28 DPS)
- Maximum turret count is 4
- Training Cost of 7200 Elixir
Level 2 (Unlocked at Town Hall 9):
- 405 Hitpoints
- 62 Damage per attack (31 DPS)
- Maximum turret count is 5
- Training Cost of 7700 Elixir
Level 3 (Unlocked at Town Hall 10):
- 430 Hitpoints
- 66 Damage per attack (33 DPS)
- Maximum turret count is 6
- Training Cost of 8400 Elixir
Turret Stats:
- 170 Hitpoints
- 12 Damage per attack (30 DPS)
- Constructed every 3.5 seconds
- (Turrets don't trigger the traps, but the engineer would probably set them off for them. Turrets are not harmed by spring traps though).
Uses:
- Turrets can be used as distraction to single target defenses.
- Good damage and can be used as variation to the wizard.
- Can soak up good damage (not one hit killed from Cannons and Archer Towers) and works well "hidden from defenses" in archer swarms.
- Turrets provide good help against clan castle troops.
Sounds good! But what is underpowering this troop?
- The slow speed (I think it's equivalent to Giant, I'm not sure)(Balloon travels at 14)
- Ineffectiveness against Inferno Towers (both settings), Cannons, and Archer Towers (maxed archer towers and cannons would not struggle much against this troop and its turrets due to a whopping 98 damage (I think... I don't have TH 10, so yeah) which would destroy the Engineer relatively quickly.
- Edit: I just considered what would happen if someone placed this in a clan castle for offense. Town Hall 6 would require many defenses firing on this troop to destroy it. But then again, these troops can be killed by spring traps.
Alright, what about the Poison Spider?
The Poison Spider is a bluish purple colored spider with bloodred dots lining its abodmen. The legs are fairly long and are sharp tipped.
Summary:
A front-line melee troop with poor damage resistance, but this flaw is quickly made up in its attack and speed.
Permanent Stats:
Housing Space: 3
Speed: 32 (Like the goblin and minion)
Stats:
Level 1 (Comes with Barracks Level 12):
- 35 Hitpoints
- 28 Damage per attack (42 DPS)
- Training Cost of 1200 Elixir
Level 2 (Unlocked at Town Hall 10):
- 40 Hitpoints
- 30 Damage per attack (45 DPS)
- Training Cost of 1500 Elixir
Uses:
- Cleanup, as the high damage will be able to quickly destroy buildings.
- Mixed between barbarians on a base with poor splash damage.
- As clan castle troops, due to the fact that 3 are capable of fitting into a Level 1 clan castle, and is a useful counter to Garch, GAW and Giant-Healer for people who don't have Skeleton Traps to counter attackers.
Sounds good! But what is underpowering this troop?
- The low health! Mortars and Wizard Towers will be able to demolish this troop easily!
- These troops should be incapable of destroying walls without assistance as defenses are more than capable of destroying Poison Spiders
- Even if they manage to penetrate the first few layers of the base, they will be attacked by many more defenses inside the base than outside the base. A few bombs can also stop a horde of Poison Spiders.
Let me know what you think in the comment section below!!
P.S. Yes, I am aware there is some strange spacing in my post. When I go to edit it, it is not visible. I also think training costs may be off. I don't have Town Hall 9 or 10 so I'm going with my gut feeling.
