Please give me a rational arguement saying that SC is greedy (NOT a flame thread)

Firstly, please do me, yourself and everyone else a favor and if you are going to respond rudely, dont. This is not the place. I would like to keep this thread open as long as possalbe without any flaming.

Now that thats out of the way, on to the point of the thread. So, basicly i would like to hear a valad arguement saying that SC is greedy, because i have never head a rational one. Everything in the game is gettable without gems, that just speeds it a long. SC is a company, and the point is to make money, but that does not make them greedy. Another one i hear a lot is "gems cost too much" why would they lower the cost if people still buy? Makes no sense. As for all the new content (level 11 walls TH10, ect) would you rather not have amazing updates put up every. Single. Month. Then them not adding new content? Top players will chose to gem and thats not SC's fault. And last but not least, here are a list of things that generated little-to-no revenew that they did not have to put in.

1)new WB AI. Did they get any money from it? No, they did it because the player base asked for it.

    2) attack log. 'Nuff said

    3) defence log. This was before my time, but they used to not have the defence log.

    4) reduced sleep time on heroes. This made them lose a lot of money, because it takes less gems to heal them, obviously.

    5) Reduced cook time on spells, a lot. This made them lose money, same reason as heroes.

    6) less upgrade time on mines

    7) reduced cost of heroes, will have lost them money, when the next top players come and gem everything.

    8) making it so troops stay alive when your camps are killed.

    9) making it so you remove all grave stones at once instead of one at a time.

    10) leagues

    11) leader messages

    12)balloon death splash

    13) drag splash

    14) wizard splash

    15) less train time on pekkas, losing them money from top player gems.

    16) less cost for golems as gowipe is a lot cheaper now.

    17) fixed splash not firing glitch

Sorry for the long post, and remember plz dont start a flame war

Heroes. When they came out, it took 5 months straight to get them to level 30 (plus de). At the time, the game had hardly been out for 5 months. This along with lev 10 walls at 3m each really separated the gemmers, because it cost literally thousands to max them out, and it was (still is) impossible to acquire without gems.

But they lowered the cost of heroes.
It is not imposable to get level 10 walls without geming. Hard, but doable.

Great post. Supercell is greedy because they use the Freemium (pay to pwn) model. If they weren't, they would go with Paid (one time fee) or Subscription (recurring fee).

Seems like they have found a pretty good balance between being 'greedy' and satisfying their free players.

You have a good point. However i would argue that if you are a good enough farmer you could max everything, then from there it takes addiction (staying on all the time) and skill (pulling off the raids) however as i said you make a good an interesting point.

    Yeah pretty much.

It's entirely possible to have success with paying little/no money. It's called patience. If you don't have it and want to get to the top faster - you pay.

It's a perfect system, I cannot fathom how it's 'greedy'.

Every time someone complains about them 'been greedy' I just facepalm and think what the hell is wrong with them.

The company has a model that allows them to make money AND provide an excellent game for free.

The whole 'pay to pwn' idea is absurd also I might add, that's why the game has loot penalties. Everyone has equal safety and danger regardless of their hall [unless they prematurely upgrade, which is their own stupid fault - not SuperCells]

There hasn't been a point in time in the game where a non-gemmer maxed out, out of 5+ million players. Although if it was possible, it wouldn't be pay to pwn.

It's a great model for making lots of money and this type of game is perfect for it. It had the balance, but with the level 11 walls, their peak is done and their revenue slope is sliding down.
