I would like to suggest a new defense a lightning rod which would be hidden from an attacker similar to other reload able defenses. It would take up one block and would absorb the impact of a lighting spell. It would have 3 levels which could be upgraded and would absorb say 20%, 30%, 50% of a lighting spell, this would help greatly with protecting your DE, Motors, wizard towers and CC troops.

Good news for you! Zapping might be fixed.
In the sneak peak video for dragons lv5, he lightning spelled an air defense adjacent to a gold storage.
The storage took no damage, he took no gold, and there was a forcefield!
