Many people use different spells with their farming armies and their war armies. Sometimes it's hard to switch the spells back every time. If you were able to discard spells so you didn't have to start an attack and use them against the goblins (assuming you're keeping your shield running). Since spells are expensive, it would also be nice if there was a partial refund for doing so.
Spell dumping should be a must . I wonder why Sc didn't do it.
Dumping is necessary , i don't mind if i get some refund.

Because keeping spells encourages players to make attacks?
i.e. You invested in your spells. You want to use them. So, you make an army to raid with your spells and then set up your war army/spells.
