Basically what would happen is whenever someone is attacking in war, the war button would flash red. Seems to me it would be uncomplicated and helpful.

Why not just click on war and watch for an attack to happen? they already give enough alerts out IMO

why stare at the war map waiting for an attack when you could get an alert and watch it live! not much to do on a war map.
