Why don't the troops that survive a battle return to the Army Camps when the battle is over?
Seems strange that they just disappear like a bunch of deserters.
Found some similar threads so ignore this now...

Thats the game, u should now if u can economize the troop and if not u have to loose it
otherwise it becomes boom beach the game forum is here if u want
Thats a great idea. I like it. I hope supercell puts it in.
It could be setup with restrictions that only troops that take 1 space can return to army camps.
So only Barbarians and Archers.
Anyway. I just read somewhere that the surviving troops "melt" into the ground and you are refunded their worth in Elixir.
Can't say that I noticed that so I will watch for it the next time.
If this is the case then that's a fair enough deal. At least you get your elixir back for surviving troops.
I can see issues with this..., but strains of the idea might include reusing surviving troops only once. Another possibility would be to only allow this if the troops were used for war and not regular battle.... or that surviving troops could be made available only as donations to other clan members.
I really dont think any elixir is refunded to you after an attack. All spent troops are gone and whatever you spent on them is gone too. And this is as it should be for the reason listed earlier. Its a game of strategy and a huge part of that strategy is the attacker figuring out what the right troops to use are and how many to deploy to get the job done. If you OP your opponent then you should pay full price for those troops - no refunds or returning troops. that would ruin the game.
I got nothing

When a village is fully destroyed, or time runs out, the Ley Lines below the village explode. Killing all troops nearby, hence why they pop into elixir.
