Gem the heroes for faster upgrades

Hey guys, here's an idea you might like.

Right now, an active player can gem their Barracks or Dark Barracks to boost troop production by a factor of 4 for 2 hours for 10 gems. Or a truly impatient player can spend more gems to get the troops immediately. Likewise, an frequent attacker can boost their Spell Factory production by a factor of 4 for 2 hours for 10 gems, or spend gems to get the spells immediately. When the King or Queen are upgrading, it is possible to gem to finish the upgrade immediately, but no way to make it go faster.

So the simple proposal is: allow players to spend gems to speed up the upgrade of their Heroes.

I would suggest that players could spend 10 gems to boost the hero upgrade speed by a factor of 4 for 2 hours, just like spells or other troops. That would mean that a high level hero (which normally takes 7 days to upgrade) could in theory be upgraded in 1 day 18 hours for 210 gems, if the player were dedicated enough to re-gem every 2 hours for the whole period.

What do you think of the idea? If you like the idea, is the cost (10 gems for 4x speed for 2 hours) too high, too low, or just right?

Or you could just gem finish the cost of upgrading your hero.

Also I'm pretty sure speeding up builders is ruled out.

Not exactly. You can just gem the remaining time to finish it immediately, yes. But I am proposing a different way of spending (fewer) gems to make the upgrade go more quickly (but not immediately). See the difference?

Yes, but speeding up builder times is ruled-out. I just assumed that you followed forum rules and read the stickies.

    Sorry if I am mistaken

Yup, we see the difference. And it is ruled out to "boost builder/upgrade times" to make an upgrade finish faster. Your choices are either wait it out the entire duration for the upgrade, or make the upgrade finish instantly. It's one or the other, nothing inbetween, when it comes to upgrades.

The reason is that Supercell would lose out on revenue if they implemented your idea. They would prefer to make MORE money, as opposed to less. Pretty sound business logic

Agree Supercell needs to maximize revenues. But it's not clear to me that giving players more ways to spend gems won't make them more money. Why don't airlines sell only first class tickets? Because they make MORE money by selling (inferior) economy tickets to customers at a lower price point.

Not looking to speed up builders in general, just the King and Queen!
