    Lightbulb Clan language/Chief language

So I like to open up my clan for new members occasionally, and this works okay, except for one thing: the folks that join often do not speak English. And this wouldn't be a problem, but then they can't understand our rules and do things like donate mass giants to all the open war requests for specific troops like pekka/golem/lava hound. :/

Can we please have a setting for clans that lets you specify a language (bonus points for letting us select multiple languages; I'm looking at you French/English speaking Canadians).

On the chief/player side, they would need to set a language in their settings. Ideally you would default to whatever language they have their interface set to (presumably they would be using it in their favored language). Obviously the UI isn't set up for every possible language, but this would at least be a good starting point.

Now when players go to search for clans, it would filter the results to clans that speak their language. And we would, at least more likely, get peeps that can understand us. :P

(Cue up the recurring request to let people specify what troops (and how many of each) they want, and/or have a donation log for leaders to see who's donating what).

PS: If you let the players choose a language from a list that's longer than the list of available UI languages, this would help you gather data for what you need to work on for localization of the UI. Example: You see a lot of players (and not just lvl 1 accounts, but regular players that are active) that choose Klingon as their language (again, just an example) now you know you should probably move that language up the queue of UI language interface translations.

Just only accept members who request to join in English or Norsk.

On boom you have clans that show with players with your language setting. That's similar to what you are asking. Which I support. perhaps have the languages listed within the clan settings ie:
    Language: English-Some French

There's no request, I'm talking about setting my clan to "Anyone can join" which just gets you a spam of "xxx joined the clan" in the clan chat depending on how low you set your trophy requirement.

Yes, the clan language(s) would show up in the clan description, as well as impact when players search for clans (this time finding only clans that match the players language).

    Thanks for your support. =)

    Post-update bump:

Two more languages added (as far as UI support goes), seems like this ought to cover most commonly used languages at this point.

And it case it wasn't clear from the proposal, this would help the player searching for a clan as much as it would help the clans themselves. After all, I can only imagine the frustration of trying to find a clan that speaks/supports your language when the vast majority are likely another language.

From a person trying to find a clan I think clan location and what language the clan message is.
If the problem is people that speak a different language are joining your clan either set it to invite only or kick anyone who doesn't speak English.

It's both problems: people trying to find clans that speak their language, and clans trying to get members that speak the dominant language of the clan.

And both sides are frustrating (for different reasons: for clans having to kick people who don't understand their language, for players having to join/view dozens of clans before finding one that meets their criteria). It doesn't have to be that way, and this resolves most of the problem.

As for using location: in the United States there is a good chunk of the population that speaks Spanish (as a primary language). If they want to find folks in the US that also speak Spanish, what do you propose they do?
