Update your iOS. It could be iPad 1s are not compatible with hay day anymore, some games/most have iOS upgrade and tablet/iPod/phone requirements like newer ones. It may be you just can't play for a reason.

There are too many people with this problem

    Idaho trader,

It appears you are not from Supercell. There are tens of thousands with this issue although only a few dozen are on the forum raising this issue. I have an iPod 4th gen running 6.1.6 the latest available. Actually, I have two, one is a 16gb used by my daughter and mine is a 64gb. Hers works with lots of crashing while mine is unplayable during events and crashes more than my daughter if no event is going on. For over two weeks after the summer update, when this thread was started, I could not play at all. I probably get 15 minutes for every hour of trying with frequent crashes. If you read the reviews on iTunes or Google play, thousands are locked completely out. It is NOT our iOS. It is the update is trying to grab too much memory because of the things added to hayday in the summer update. In apple devices, there are diagnostics for crashing games and all on my daughter's and my game say "low memory". In addition, Nick stated that at supercell, they have an iPad 1 which works. It is hit and miss. Some devices work okay, some fine and some not at all.

So, simply, you are incorrect blaming the device and iOS. There are some people on the latest iOS on the new iPhone with several GB free unable to get the game to load. Others with the same configuration and less free without problems. Yes, it seems to plague older devices more than newer but there are devices of all configurations with problems. I even backed up my device, reinstalled the newest (for my device) iOS and then the game and no change. The memory usage by the game is the issue and this is a programming issue. And with over 25 years of professional programming experience, I know that bad programming causes these sorts of inconsistent results. Just because a game works on 5 or 500 Iphones without crashing does not mean that it will not crash a significant number when on millions.

We are only asking for supercell to let the tens or hundreds of thousands with crashing issues whether they will fix it or not. That is not too !such to ask, is it? And, per their published minimum requirements, most of us are well within them.

Even if it's an iOS problem, they should at least notify us instead of keeping us in the dark. Rather shady, is it not?

    Not device iOS issue

godzsogood (and He is!) I am with you on this whole issue. I don't think it's our device or IoS.....I have iPad 1st generation......when I shut everything down and then try it it works.....sometimes.....not always and then crashes are inevitable....I cannot shop newspaper at all or it crashes....I can go to neighbors farms ......sometimes....I only keep trying because, well, I really like my farm . The lack of communication from supercell on this issue is disheartening t say the least.
The good thing about it all is I am getting a lot of things done around the house

    Same here too!
Lately I have so much free time, I have done all kinds of things that had to be done.
    Farm level: 104
    Town level: 28

Since a few Month’s I play Hayday on iPad Pro (11 inch) and iPhone 11 because iPad 2 crashed to much.

    True

I have noticed that it is slightly better than when it started. I can play some with frequent crashes. I can do things on my farm but have little to no social aspect with my neighborhood or GC friends. In addition, I can do very little shopping. Most of the time, my GC friends don't load within the game. More stable but hard because I used to have a great group with great shops. I end up having to grow all crops I use, even wheat because I have a hard time loading other farms.

I keep saying over and over that this issue will multiply among players with each update as long as they don't solve it. It is random and not confined to one platform, device, iOS, android version, etc. Hopefully, they are working on it. Because each update is not optional, it will spread until fixed. I have read a lot of old forum postings. There were other updates that caused similar issues which were fixed before it trashed my game so there appears hope. But without direct communication with supercell, it is only hope. We will see. Just keep pleading with supercell to tell us something. But I am not holding my breath. Just keeping an eye out here....

    New event...so doesn't load!!

I was able to play.....limited, at least........and now it will not load! And the reason is because there is a new event! Every time now it gets to clouds and crashes.....so very very disappointing!

    New event

Yes, I hate events because it crashes more and impossible to play. And that we have heard nothing from supercell in such a long time is maddening! I have found occasionally, as the clouds clear and the newspaper is flying toward the screen, I can once in ten to twenty crashes, move the screen slightly and go to the town. Then I can play a few minutes and return to my farm but I have to be slow. If I try to do things at normal pace, it crashes. Sucks!

Maybe some help on events with crashing hay day users

Okay, I refuse to give up so here:
    1. If you get the clouds for event, and I have to load it 3-6 or more times in a row to get them, after the clouds clear, the newspaper starts flying forward. As soon as it starts splitting into multiple pages, tap on it, hold and sweep right. This will halt the animation. This should be easy since the game is running slow. Often, it will crash as those pages get to the forefront of the screen or just after. Just discovered this and it prevents crashing to a point because stopping the animation allows game to use memory for other things.
    2. Move the screen a little. Wait 10-20 seconds and move a little more. I find that getting into my town or fishing area and slowly doing things (waiting 10 seconds between things) gets the game to connect to and finish the start up things. Within several minutes, I notice the game will get close to normal speed.
    3. Try going back to your farm and play. Pay attention to how fast or slow things are happening like butterflies flying normal or not at all or pausing for several seconds.
    4. If you can baby the game and play about 25-30 minutes, those clouds will quit appearing after the game crashes.

I had to do this many times since the event started yesterday and regained crashing play instead of no play. If you move the screen and it doesn't move, wait. If you do too much, it will crash. If not, it eventually will finish whatever is slowing it down and soon, you can play more normally. I feel I beat the game when I get past the slow part and it goes to the new normal. Crashing but I can play a bit.
