You would be able to farm gems off dead bases and therefore SC loses profit.

In all reality Supercell needs profits just like all companies. This will never be implemented into the game

I love these ideas. Stop and thing sniper1015. Do YOU want people stealing YOUR gem boxes? No. You don't.

Edit:

If this gets added, the Gem boxes should get built in Hidden teslas, and zap lightning spells. Maybe even somehow make it so we can use heroes in wars while upgrading.
