That's life, there is always someone bigger, stronger, faster, more qualified etc. No matter what walk of life.

Just like you are the predator for TH7. I'm sure you love steamrolling them.

My main account is pretty much max TH10, and I love smashing TH9. Without that it would be seriously harder to loot.

I also have a mini TH8 account who gets smashed by TH9 all the time. And I fully accept that.

That is the Clash of Clans food chain, learn to accept it. Reducing the loot penalty will do far more harm than good. For the simple reason you can attack far more times per day than you defend.

Exactly. This is the foundation of the games design. One up and one down is an appropriate range. There is either such little regard for or such little understanding of the games economy in this suggestion that it falls flat as a bad idea.

No, I really don't. Unless the base is inactive and has full collectors, I almost always steer clear of them because I don't want to be the same D-bag that gets a Barch 3-star because I've got higher level archers than they do. And even so, it's not nearly as bad as TH9 vs TH8. And since I don't have X-Bows, a level 5+ queen with a few healers is basically guaranteed to smash its way through my base without trouble.

And although it seems like almost everyone disagrees with me on this point (something I found quite surprising), I still believe that just picking on lower town hall levels than you is cheap and is an incredibly unfair way to allow people to loot attack. Call me stupid. Whatever.

Not stupid, you're just not looking at the bigger picture. A TH9 produces exactly the same amount of resources as a TH8. However, a TH9 needs roughly 1700% more to upgrade archer towers alone than a TH8 does. A TH10 produces roughly 20% more than a TH8 but needs 7000% more for archer towers alone. Do you see where this is headed? TH9 and TH10 don't produce anywhere near enough resources to fund their own portion of the economy. They are 100% dependent on league bonuses and raiding TH8's. That is the way the game is designed on purpose. This is why simply making in unprofitable to raid TH8's is such a terrible idea. It is effectively lix-4-walls all over again. It effectively ends game play above TH8.

If you truly want to have a discussion about changing the economy and balancing gameplay to accommodate those changes that is an entirely different discussion. I suggest you start searching, reading some of the very detailed (and flame filled) threads on the various aspects of this topic. Once you have a better understanding of how the CoC economy and battle dynamic impact tens of millions of gamers simultaneously . . . then we can rehash this argument again. Just be ready for a LOT of dissenting opinions. There is more than one good idea and they don't all work together. Happy reading!

Disclaimer: I did the math for the figures up in paragraph 1 about 10 months ago so my memory may be hazy. Also, costs and production rates have changed since then so they may be slightly off. Not by too much though.

i have seen th9 beat th10 before, i see many th9 bouncing around masters and they are not easy to beat, even a few th8 up there, imagine having loads of lower townhalls that you can't get any loot from while they have no problem taking your loot

    Hmmmmm

This thread got me thinking, and I almost said yeh good idea, make it 75%! I am a town hall 10 who has been preyed on and has also been the predator.

You need to put yourself into the boots of the cat, rather than the mouse. It is hard enough to find loot as it is.

The game would suck if you couldnt get loot from people lower than you, because thats all the fun of getting stronger. All anyone wants is to be at the top of the food chain! (As someone else already mentioned)

So thats my opinion on the matter. Im kinda 50/50 on this one, I think the "more likely to be matched with someone your own town hall level" is about the best they can do to help this issue. But good thinking!

    Learn to play a little.
Keep one builder free to spend gold on walls quickly.
Learn to keep lower cups, when you're freshly upgraded th.
Learn to keep your th outside and unprotected to increase chance of faster shielding.

If anything, th9s should be complaining the most, because they have relatively expensive upgrades and strong th10 still can easily destroy like 70% of their base with simple giants-bombers-miners combo. But it's quite fine as it is. Gold league is relatively safe and the whole time i've been upgrading my th 9, i got hit by th10 like once per 50 defenses.

P.S. But what is true, I absolutely adore th8 with walls6 and full storages/mines. But they could have helped by prohibition of rushing, not loot penalties. )
