Suggest calling it "unset".

It should be the default state. Default "opt in" or "opt out" are self contradictions. You cannot "opt" by default.

Very good and usefull idea, it happens so often in my clans guys putting themselves in red and telling me, use me if needed I play which create confusion with ones who are not really ready to play

I think it is a great idea.

My clan mainly wars on the weekends, Friday prep and Saturday fight, and during the summers my weekends are manic. I can usually find time to cook up two armies and make two attacks but I cannot be on for long periods to help organise or donate troops etc so I always opt out rather than being a burden. With this idea the clan would know that I can get in my attacks but may not be able to help out in prep day and can either take me or leave me as appropriate with whoever else is available.

Nice idea. Would give a little more flexibility in selecting the team. It could also be nice to have the ability to reset the whole clan to opted out. Then each member would have to opt-in showing they do want to be in the war. We don't have any issues with the presets staying the same, but I send a clan mail reminder often to make sure people don't get kicked as a result of failing to keep it updated.
