I'll try to condense this idea into a digestible proposal. Clash of Clans is a data driven game. However, our ability to store and retrieve that data is very limited. Want to see which clan members are doing well in war over time? Get out a pencil and paper.
it would be great if the game had an admin website where clan leaders could manage their clans more effectively. And people could use historical data to improve their own gameplay. Think of the web consoles that the Battlefield series has.
Key Asks:
- ability to store and retrieve war history indefinitely
- ability to select players for war and see data about clan strength (what ifs)
- ability to download data to csv files for further manipulation
- chat area for clan memebers, leaders etc - in a place that doesn't burden game development
- ability to store more clan information - again, in a place that doesn't burden game development
- ability to recognize clan members for heroic acts
- tools to annotate clan members who fail to attack or don't follow attack rules
- top ranking lists of which troops players prefer
- dashboards on which types of attacks are most successful for the team
- a more robust map editor
This is not an exhaustive list, just a few ideas of what could be done with a companion Admin website for the game. Maybe it's too late for Clash, but it sure would be nice to have an agile and dynamic view of information that is detached from the game bits and game development cycle.
