During a collector boost and if Ash was farming all day with boosted barracks, I would be surprised if he didn't get an insane amount like 84 million. Sure, you have to be a bit lucky but Ash is one of the best farmers around, so maybe you're the one being naïve.

During the 24 hour run, I kept track of my progress every raid. If anyone is interested, here's my performance (during the start I actually averaged well over 3.5 mill Gold per hour and was on track to farm 100 million Gold in 24 hours in the first 8 hours.
