I have caught 6 different fish so far... Like it.

The missus has caught 10 different fish so far. (Some more than once) ... She likes it also.

I don't understand how you use the lures to catch different fish. When I have caught fish, it has shown 2 lures in the picture but I don't know how I am making the combo? Pleas help cause I can't seem to find any new fish!!

How do you fancy doing a thread of your own for this idea...?? You could c+p any of my tables and adapt them to suit.

    John.
I'll think about it. I don't think a 10-score is necessary for difficulty, there are definitely three different levels (easy/medium/hard), there *might* even be four or five (+/- very easy and very hard), but because there is no way to meassure difficulty precisely, it simply doesn't make sense to talk about a 10-point scale.

On a slight side-note, after I made the lengthy post, I just realized there's a perfect 1:1 correspondance between the fish that are "hard" or "very hard" to catch, and the fish that only exist in one specific area: These are Grass Carp, Brook Trout, Salmon, Rainbow Smelt, Bitterling, Speckled Daze and Golden Trout. What this shows me is that the idea of a specific difficulty being assigned to a species is not just a figment but is something that has definitely been done by Supercell when designing the fishing system.

    Caught my 1st bitterling!

Hi John, this updated table/chart IS the one that I had been looking for and harassing you with PM's over, lol. I'd already gotten all the fish in the original table on page 19. Anyway, before I digress, thanks to all the amazing hard work put in by you and so many other fisherfolk, I was able to catch my first ever bitterling just now. I'd stopped fishing with vouchers for a while so I could finish up buying all my pets (well, except the 2nd donkey: doesn't seem worth it, in my opinion), but started up making colored lures again, and came on the thread to arm myself with all the necessary info. . A very very big thanks also to Alcibiades for the difficulty rating. Without that info, I would definitely have wasted my purple lures on the greater redhorse instead. I hooked the redhorse 3 times, but let go cos I wasn't sure if it was right, came back to cross check the thread and once I hooked the bitterling, I knew for sure! Managed to get it immediately. Also caught a different weight of brook trout but not gold yet. I still have quite a number of fish to go actually. Just waiting for my blue lure and then it's time to hunt down the rainbow smelt again. Tried 2 hours ago but was conned by a yellow bass. Now that I know the smelt will fight back more, I hopefully won't fall into that trap again......
Alcibiades, if you would continue charting the difficulty rating for catching each fish, it would really really really help lots of fisher(wo)men, and if the info could somehow be alongside John's chart/table, that would just be super awesome (or a separate thread would work fine too). This thread should really be a sticky!!!!!
OK, off to catch the smelt....

    Tried for speckled dace

Got fooled by the greater redhorse, bummer. Effectively killed my fishing buzz, back to worm lures.....

SaudiG - You have been busy then... Sometimes you get lucky days, and then you get nothing for weeks, that's the way it goes. Alcibiades has contributed a great deal of info towards these threads over the past few months, and has been here since the fishing update started.

I go fishing every single day, but tend to split between Lobster pots, and fishing with worms atm to keep those latest machines running, because like lots of others, am working towards getting their masteries completed. Have chucked in 6 mystery nets in today, to get more fish, lures, or other goodies..?? (Still haven't got that pearl yet either...)
