It makes sense to change clan names as much as it makes sense to change player names: either both or none of the two should be allowed. I cannot think of any reason why it is ok for a player to change name but not for a clan.

To give a specific example, my clan is a relatively old clan and it is called Greece for a reason: back in the early days of CoC clans did not have a location associated with them, so for a clan to indicate that it wished to recruit Greek players it had to use the name of the country as its own name. This is why there are many clans out there called Greece, but also USA, Iran etc. Now that clan location is a search parameter, this practice is no longer needed and we would love to change the name of our clan to something more interesting if SC would give us the chance.

Nice idea so many clans have bad names and they want to change
but maybe u can also add a features that says that 2 clan can't have the same name ?

I agree totally now because of Clan Wars. Keeping a Clan Wars record is extremely important.

Example. Imagine been part of a family of clans, got to level 5...then the leader of that individual clan 'broke up' with the family of clans.

Why should they be stuck with the family name? Why can't they keep their record they earned and gain their own identity?

Or for any other reason for that matter, simply closing a clan and starting a new one is not really viable due to Clan Perks.

Thing is, you make a clan and then someone copies the name. Nobody wants to lose their, let's say, lv 5 clan because of that. I've had that happen to me before. We existed long before, later on 2 fake clans were made. Whenever we recruited, people joined the wrong clan.
