We should be able to upgrade level 7 walls with elixir. People have elixir laying around but not a lot of gold with 500,000 costing a lot considering there are a lot of walls. Please take this in to consideration. Thank you.

Nope. This almost ended CoC a year ago and it would certainly end it again. It may work with a mandatory minimum storage cap but if SC opened up lix-4-walls like they did last time they might as well turn off the servers and start on something new. This is not a new idea, nor is it a request for a new feature.
Elixir for level 7 and 8 walls is an old, broken feature that was quickly removed very soon after it was implemented because it was found to be extremely detrimental to the economy.
Oh I couldn't find it in the read before you post post. I mean they still have elixir upgrade for lvl 8 walls. Just wanted it to be an option for lvl 7 too. :/

Do an offensive-geared premie rush to TH9 and exploit the current system at a 1:8 gold/elixir ratio if you have so much excess elixir. Elixir for walls is stupid in general, but Supercell has shown that they are completely incapable of adjusting it so that it doesn't continue to hurt farming at TH10 unless you're in champs or sub-200 (which I've finally bucked up and started doing as even with the new matchmaking, farming is flat out stupid anywhere else as a TH10).
Get to TH9, and just have lots of Lvl 7 and Lvl 9/10 walls in your base, I'm sure anyone with a basic sense for math can figure out how to game the current system. Stay at TH9 until you're satisfied with your wall levels.
